Hearing Master's Decision on 14-0126 & 14-0127 (Van Dyke Rd.)

May 13, 2014

The Special Hearing Master has published his decieion to recommend APPROVAL of 14-0126 & 14-0127. The Coalition (and their Counsel) testified at the 4/21 Rezoning Hearing in support of approving this project only if the conditions of our Letters of Agreement, with the developers, were honored.

Special Hearing Master Steven Luce did in fact recommend approval based upon the modifications as noted during the Hearing.

So far, so good. However, now the case must go before the Board of County Commissioners on June 10th for approval. We continue to encourage the BOCC and the County agencies not to place any conditions upon this project, during the design phase, that would be inconsistent with our Letters of Agreement.

Geraci Property Update

Tuesday, April 22, 2014

Last night's Rezoning Hearing went as expected with no unwelcomed surprises by anyone. The developer's representatives upheld our Letter of Agreement (in eliminating the two busiest access points on Van Dyke Road), as did we.

We had a good turnout from both, Coalition members, as well as of Van Dyke area residents.

Many thanks go out to everyne who submitted letters to the Hearing Master o honor our Letter of Agreement in his rendering. There were dozens and dozens and dozens of letters submitted and were enetered into the Record.

Now, all we can do is to wait for the Hearing Master (Stven Luce) to render his decision. His decision should be announced in 10-14 days. This case is also scheduled to be presented to the BOCC at the June 10th BOCC meeting. We need as many people to attend as we can get. It begins at 9:00am.
